You Can't Bring Me Down

Nanowrimo, you can't bring me down.

This is my official concession of the wordcount defeat for 2006. I stopped writing about a week ago, at 15,171 and quickly realized i was literally outnumbered when i had to be at 30,000 that day.

However, this is not a real defeat (hence the suicidal tendencies song). Nano has given new life to dormant possibilities.

That does not mean i still won't do nano next year! Sucker for a challenge! :)

Stay tuned.

Hard Rock Hallelujah

Praise be! I passed the 10,000 mark! Today I mean, like fifteen minutes ago, while i was goofing off again. I think my nickname this month is goofy. This means I am 10 times the devil's number behind which believe me, is hell. Yikes. Must log off soon (to NOT goof off... eesh).

Snacks fueling evening writing: Tostitos <3

My attempt at being clever, i present some chapter titles:
absurd little bird
one flew over...
...of a feather
why do birds suddenly appear...?
two birds with one stone
for cocoa puffs

im soo smrt! peace out.

shout outs

right! while i am still goofing off! Some hi's!

Menolly: so happy you are attempting Nano, you rule! Sci fi!

L&N: sorry about no movie this weekend. This is what nano did to me last year and what it will do to me every November for the rest of my life :( Next weekend! I'm on a writing roll today!

poptart! i am eating an oatmeal cookie (excellent nano-fuel) Reminder: Girl Scout cookies. tuesday. lobby. be there.

the KKK took my baby away

I took a break at the 6,113 word mark and what was on the first channel I turned to? The Ku Klux Klan: A Secret History! Amazing! The vitrol (oh snap, I just learned that no such word exists! it's vitriol! i never knew!) I experienced was fantastic. Fodder for the novel!

It hasn't been fifty years-- NOT ONE LIFETIME-- since then and people want to be all we're equal now, aren't we, why are you still complaining? Feh to that.

My novel is so angry. No pop song quotations this time. Hardly any humor (that will be remedied i think once i introduced my secret weapon: the bazooka player).

Also on tv: the Village (i <3 m. night), commercial for Maid in Manhattan (i don't normally go for chick flicks, jLo's okay i guess but OMG RALPH FIENNES = F.I.N.E.), some show on BBCA called Cracker: A New Terror. No, I am not making that up. Plus Paragraph 175 on Logo. I mentioned the concentration camps in my novel too! Hurray for ... what's that word when things come together? Yeah, that.

Everybody get random!

I just reached my wordcount--FOR YESTERDAY. DOOM!!

But it is early yet, so let's see if i can reach that magical 6,666.

Music picks so far *some fitting, but all helpful for dystopia creating*
Les Miserables' soundtrack
The Subhumans' The Day The Country Died
Lady Sovereign's Public Warning
Metallica's Master of Puppets
Nevermind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols

I is the enemy.

vengo del sol

Word count (not yet done for the night) : 2,918
Plot : what plot? It's not even linear anymore, it's just snippets here and there. How can it be this bad already? Woe.
Snacks : omg, like, ten soy nuts? Bad snack night.
Budgies : FOUR SO CUTE
Music : only listing the m-artists just cuz it's arbitrary: mission of burma, motley crue, madness, matisyahu, morrissey and marilyn monroe!

Also I figured out that the first line in my novel is in the past tense.

best/worst line today:
But no one listened, as they had previously occupied themselves with finding the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ in buckets, toast, cracked paint and withered trees.

Dia de los Muertos

Happy Day of the Dead everyone!

By some happy coincidence it is also the first day of Nanowrimo! I have no plot and one main character and two side mentionables (one of whom is dead and the other is a drug addict who may be dead and/or in detox). Ah, love.

I ate three wintergreen Altoids and one pepperidge farm sausalito cookie. I get by with a little help from sugar.

I have 1,101 words so far, will hopefully reach the quota by the end of the night.

Here is my first line (which I haven't figured out if it should be in the past or present tense)

It is much easier to love him now that he is dead.
